The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics offers academic and social activities such as identifying nutrition state, defining and assessing problems, determining priorities, seeking solutions to improve the nutrition state of society, presenting and implementing suggestions to settle the problems, defining state policies for food and nutrition, implementing the activities in this context, doing food analysis, determining the nutrition requirements of various age groups, preparing and applying specific diets for some diseases, and performing administration and organization activities in catering firms. The main vision of the department is to provide the students with a sound scientific basis and to encourage them for conducting research.
The main subjects of the study field cover health promotion, disease prevention and treatment, and food and beverage industry. The graduates of the department can be employed at both public and private hospitals, Nutritional Counseling Centers, Child Care Centers, food production companies, and Community Health Centers.
